Problem description:
  • The study on Inventory management is carried out in Emerson Network Power Ltd (INDIA). Stocking of various raw materials for the assembling of components of Air Condition.
  • Overstocking of an item leads to blockage of the capital and increases the inventory carrying cost shortage of an item results in high cost of concomitant with ‘crash’, procurement, inefficient schedules, customer dissatisfaction and loss of sales. Since the numbers of items are abundant, only the important items that cover most of the usage value are considered. The problem is to determine how much to procure in each period, satisfying the requirements.
  • The basic purpose of this study is to know the consumption pattern of most vital item and recommend a suitable policy so that overall inventory cost is minimized.

Forecast the closing price on base of SENSEX using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).

Conclusion:

SENSEX is showing a bullish trend and the price curve is showing an increasing trend.  Prices and volumes are compatible to each other. Share price and moving average curve are diverging to each other. Therefore, you should not BUY this share or if you are holding this security, you should SELL it.
