We have an immediate opening for an experienced programmer/manager in our headquarters office located in metro-Washington, DC. This is a fantastic opportunity that does not come around often.

Primary responsibilities:

As Manager of the Systems Group, this position calls for a hands-on application programmer who will be engaged in all aspects of the software development lifecycle. This includes but is not limited to:

• producing effective systems designs and documentation
• delivering new applications to specification
• writing necessary code.
• Leading a team of three programmers, this individual is responsible for the architecture, design & development, security, operational integrity, system support and maintenance across the organization’s IT environment
  

Essential qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Programming, Information Technology or related field
• A minimum of five years programming experience for a financial services firm
• Significant exposure to Charles River Order Management System
• Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD)
• Knowledge or professional qualification in Finance (such as CFA) would be extremely beneficial
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A team player who is keen to share knowledge and the workload.
• Strong customer focus and ability to engage
• Experience and ability to deliver to tight deadlines
• Ability to clearly communicate complex issues
  

• .Net/Visual Studio required
• Prior exposure to FoxPro
• SQL
• Exposure to all stages of the development lifecycle, from requirements through design through development through rollout through support and maintenance
  

• Significant experience in database design and development
• Managerial Essentials
• A minimum of five years successful team leading experience
