Principal Artificial Engineer, Data-Mining - Mitre (McLean, VA)

MITRE’s Center for Innovative Computing and Informatics has a number of senior roles available in our Information Discovery and Understanding Department in McLean, VA. We are looking for leaders in Artificial Intelligence Engineers with interest and background in: Decision Analysis and Support, Agent Based Modeling and Data Mining technologies. Applicants will be supporting the development of data-based decision support tools for important government sponsors. We need creative, motivated individuals looking to do applied and technical research, customer outreach and team management. Candidates should have expertise in data analysis as well as some understanding of a broad range of AI technologies to include natural language processing, information exploitation, human centered design, and information semantics.

Key Functions: Design, prototype and support (both hands-on and as a manager) intelligent information processing applications with primary focus on modeling, decision analysis, data mining components and integration and evaluation of statistical analysis technologies.

Required Education/Experience: BS or equivalent and 7 years of related experience or MS or equivalent and 4 years of related experience or PhD and 2 years of related experience

Desired Education/Experience: Ph.D and 3 years of experience.

Required Skills: Strong research publications, experience managing project groups, some hands-on experience and skills in data analysis and code development.

Desired Skills Depth of experience in applied and research data mining. Experience working with customers to understand data and decision needs. Experience with cloud computing, and text analysis. Ability and desire to generate appropriate, innovative technical solutions

Travel Statement: *This position will require overnight travel up to 05 % of the time.
