Research Scientist to support the BHSAI Program at the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command Center in Fort Detrick, Maryland. Incumbent is responsible for developing and supervising research projects and investigating the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions, products and problems. Support biomedical research by development of various analysis tools such as machine learning, data mining, statistical pattern recognition and process control algorithms. Collaborate closely with MRMC life scientists and other BHSAI scientists. Process and interpret experimental data. Pursue research projects with moderate degree of supervision. Complete other projects as needed.
PhD in statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering or related discipline. Requires 2 - 4 years related research experience
Knowledge of applicable complex scientific procedures and techniques; excellent communication skills; ability to troubleshoot technical procedures; ability to work independently and supervise others
