Senior Scientist - KGB Web (New York, NY)
As the Senior Scientist at kgb web you will be a foundational member of our Data Intelligence team, working intimately with the CTO and other developers. The Data Intelligence team is responsible for gathering, analyzing and making sense of a variety of data to be used in a major consumer facing product. The role of the Senior Scientist is instrumental to building the intelligence behind how our systems.

Responsibilities: - Employ various informational retrieval and machine learning technologies to gain deep insight from the data; create innovative features out of the process for our product.
- Develop practical predictive algorithms and employing them as part of a production system that constantly processes large volume of incoming data
- Identify and implement ways to acquire and extract information from various external data sources.
Experience Guidelines (some of this should apply to you):- Strong machine learning background such as classification, clustering, collaborative filtering (specifically in relation to search and personalization)
- Experience in utilizing machine learning techniques to build classifiers and predictive algorithms
- Strong background in search technology and information retrieval such as n-gram analysis, text relevancy, search ranking, inverted indexing
- Linux and open-source machine learning and text mining tools
We would be very happy if you:- Have an (advanced) degree in computer science, with a focus on information retrieval and/or machine learning
- Know Python, Ruby or Perl
- Have experience with Amazon Web Services and cloud computing
- Have experience with Lucene, Hadoop, or other distributed systems that handle massive amounts of data
- Work comfortably in a fast paced start-up environment
- Work comfortably on multiple projects simultaneously
