Sr. Consultant with Current, Active TS/SCI US Government Clearance (Arlington, VA)

Location: Arlington, VA

Salary: $120K - $140K based on experience; Additional quarterly-bonus potential, based on overall company performance, exists.

As a Senior Consultant within the Global Services & Solutions team of a major Predictive Analytics firm, your primary responsibility will be to assist customers to achieve successful implementations of our Predictive Analytics Solution. The Senior Consultant will be proficient in delivering consulting services in more than one product line. This individual will help build ROI and identify cross-sell / up-sell opportunities for the product lines. The Senior Consultant has domain understanding and is able to work with current technical approaches as well as various solutions of company products and applications within the domain. This individual will also work with senior level consultants to develop consistent collateral and messaging.

The position requires a background in analytical software with a track record of successful implementations and a strong commercial acumen. In addition, the ability to define Solutions and ensure their successful implementation is required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality consulting services in more than one product line
  • Have domain understanding and solve typical domain issues. Work with various solutions of (COMPANY) products and applications within that domain.
  • Help build ROI and identify cross-sell / up-sell opportunities
  • Work with more senior level consultants to develop consistent collateral and messaging
  • Assist Project Managers in the determination of customer needs
  • Assist in the development of the Project Plan and Statement of Work, as and when required
  • Assist in the investigation of feasibility of given consulting opportunities
  • Understand customer business problems and (COMPANY) capabilities in order to recommend additional (COMPANY) products or applications
  • Assist and guide external consultants with the completion of consulting projects
  • Help train and mentor more junior consultants
  • Keep up-to-date with competitor information and how this relates to our capabilities
  • Produce Project Summaries for large-scale projects – defining business, business problem, (COMPANY) approach to solving problem, ROI
  • Work with Professional Services Director and Sales to develop demonstrations/marketing collateral
  • Maintain currency with (COMPANY) Inc. product focus areas
  • Assist Sales in closing solution sales through either phone conferences or on-site visits
  • Regularly update Project Managers of project status
  • Attend external training courses related to fulfilling (COMPANY) consulting projects
  • When required, travel to customer site to evaluate opportunity or to perform fulfillment of work
  • Attend consulting meetings, when required
  • Update (COMPANY) time tracking systems on a weekly basis
  • Ensure personal utilization targets are met
  • Use proactive measures to support sales process and generate additional revenue

Required Knowledge and Skill Qualifications:
  • TS SCI active US government clearance or higher
  • A bachelor’s degree in Applied Statistics, Data Mining or that containing a strong quantitative component, or equivalent work experience
  • 4-7 years working in a similar role and customer facing environment with a software or consulting services provider
  • Experience with projects that involve integrating multiple technologies and datasets to solve a business problem.
  • Experience using at least 1 of the following
    • A BI Reporting tool
    • A multidimensional database product
    • A statistical modeling tool
    • A data mining tool
    • A market research tool
  • Skills associated with any of the following product lines or Applications, namely:
    • Predictive Applications
    • SPSS Base
    • Clementine
    • Dimensions
    • ShowCase Suite
    Predictive Enterprise Services

Additional Qualifications:
  • Good problem solver with strong business acumen
  • Very strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent communicator, including cross-cultural
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
  • Good presentation, organizational, and planning skills
  • Understanding of real-time operating systems an advantage
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly
  • Experience leading in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Able to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Drive – looking for evidence of ability to see projects through to completion
  • Ability to influence customer technology decisions
