You'll lead a team of engineers that collect customer behavior data in real-time, and use this data to recommend the perfect products to millions of customers every day.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess an entrepreneurial spirit, a highly pragmatic attitude, and be able to serve as a technical resource for a team that vends massive amounts of data at massive rates using software written in Java, Perl, and C++. Experience in recommender systems, data mining, machine learning, or artificial intelligence in a commercial setting is desired, and the ability to think quantitatively is required. Experience in parallel computing and developing high throughput, high availability systems is also desired. You must not only be able to drive execution on the team's projects, but set the strategic direction for the team's experiments and applications to improve and expand Amazon's recommender systems. A BS in computer science or equivalent is required, along with at least 3 years of software development management experience.
