Job Title: Senior Business Analyst
Description: The Active Network is currently seeking an experienced Business Analyst. The successful candidate will, under general direction, conduct business analysis, vision scoping, preliminary cost/benefit analysis, software design and business process design, test planning, application documentation, in an effort to align technology solutions with Active Network business needs. - Research, define and consolidate the requirements from business technology and Product groups
- Define project scope and write up requirements analysis
- Determine time estimates and phased deliverables
- Prepare detailed specifications for the development team employing use case documents, diagrams where necessary, screen mock-ups, and/or other material when necessary
Responsibilities: - Lead business and technical analysis sessions to initiate new development to meet current and projected business needs
- Analyze business requirements and procedures to improve existing systems and business processes
- Provide expertise on the systems capabilities/limitations as it relates to business process
- Prepare impact and opportunity assessments regarding the cost/benefit of proposed projects
- Determine time estimates and phased deliverables
- Document business requirements, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify systems
- Prepare use cases and formal requirements, along with tracking dependencies and releases
- Design user interfaces and functional requirements
- Provide analysis and support for the Programming and QA teams throughout the development lifecycle
- Assist/Author in the development of test plans
- Assist/Author in the development of training and/or technical documentation
- Act as liaison between the Technology department and other business units
Qualifications/Requirements: - Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycles, requirements gathering, and user interface/interaction design in an enterprise software, web-based environment
- 3+ years of work experience in business analysis roles including web experience, programming experience, workflow experience, interface and usability design
- Experience in documenting business requirements, use cases, UML
- Experience in developing training materials and in training end users
- Experience collaborating with remote/satellite teams a plus
- Use of requirements management and modeling software such as Rational a plus
- Use of formal project management processes
- Relevant 4 year bachelor degree (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, Business) or equivalent experience
- Work well independently and in a team, organized, detail oriented, analytical, and good decision making and issue resolution
- Must have excellent and effective oral and written English communication skills to speak with both technical and non-technical personnel
- Experience with registration management systems a plus
- Strong customer service orientation
