Director, Consumer insights - Blast Radius (Vancouver, Canada)

The Director, Consumer Insight – Western Region will be a part of our talented Marketing Services team who develop interactive marketing programs, support our Customer Experience teams, research consumer behavior and dive deep into analytics and marketing research. Responsible for recommending and deploying qualitative and quantitative research (e.g. ethnographic research) to derive consumer insights, develop personas and understand customer segments, the Director also oversees our web analytics team. Working closely with our Client Services team and directly with our clients, you will identify quantifiable objectives and deploy on-going testing to optimize results. A desire to pursue innovation in data, analytics and CRM is essential, as is a sense of humor and the unique ability to see the 'big picture' while scrupulously working with the itty bitty details.
Responsibilities: - Implement/expand Analytics Practice with clients in Western North America
- Understand client's business objectives and requirements and develop specific success metrics as well as design reporting and analysis approaches tailored to their unique needs
- Interpret data and make specific and actionable client recommendations
- Manage the collection and synthesizing of data for clients. Data sources typically include: web analytic tools, client databases and ad trafficking programs
- Manage team and assist with the analysis of website traffic for key clients including monthly updates, yearly summaries and ad hoc request
- Performs hands-on analysis of large volumes of transaction and customer level data. Work with complex data structure, manipulate, and perform data analysis
- Develop findings and recommendations based on data and industry best practices
- Survey design and data analysis
- Participation in (and at times leading of) delivery of results and presentations to clients
- Provide support for ad hoc requests from Account Directors and other Consumer Insights team members across a broad range of clients
- Support client relationships and account management within the context of the Consumer Insights group
- Work with other groups and client teams within the agency to develop deliverables to meet client needs.
- Drive forward other team initiatives, such as product development and agency education
Qualifications- 5 years + experience in a related role
- Agency background with interactive and/or direct marketing experienced preferred
- Bachelors' Degree required, preferably in business or marketing
- Strong analytical skills, must be proficient in analyzing and interpreting internet-related data from standard software packages and client databases
- Solid understanding of the fundamentals of web advertising
- Experience with web analytics packages such as WebTrends, Omniture, Coremetrics, Hitbox, Visual Sciences
- Role requires the ability to write clear and concise PowerPoint presentations for client summarizing data insights, outcomes and implications in straight-forward and enlightening way for clients
- Desired is the ability to Develop: Mobile Marketing Research (M: Metrics) and Online Video Marketing Research
