Health Analyst / Data Manager (Rockville, MD)
Summary: The International Epidemiology Institute (IEI) in Rockville, Maryland is seeking a health analyst / data manager to perform statistical analysis and manage large data sets. The candidate will need to be a creative problem solver; to show initiative; to be able to work independently; to be flexible and accommodating of changing needs for study support; and to take direction from scientific investigators to fill requests for data and to assist with analyses. Programming tasks will include merging, sub-setting, manipulating, and documenting data sets. Other tasks may include developing data collection instruments, training field staff, or working with software development contractors.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree required
- 2 years of SAS experience and proficiency with data analysis and data management
- Preference for candidates with a Masters degree, in public health (biostatistics or epidemiology), quantitative social science, or health services research
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- Experience using and managing complex data structures and analysis systems
- Proficiency with data editing/cleaning and quality control procedures
- Ability to work autonomously and with a team of professionals in a multi-tasking environment
- Ability to handle multiple long term projects simultaneously and manage time effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills as well as written and oral communications skills
- Positive attitude and the ability to work well with others in a multi-disciplinary team setting
- Experience in the conduct of epidemiologic or other health studies
Timeframe:
Position is available starting April 1 or thereafter.
