Manager, Search Analytics -eBay (San Jose, CA)

Job Description

eBay’s Search Business Team is responsible for setting strategy, priorities and process for improving the effectiveness of eBay’s finding platform. We drive efforts to identify and address key business opportunities, ensuring great buyer experiences and strong business performance.
 
The Search Analytics, Manager will be responsible for helping structure analysis of key business opportunities and on-site testing. This individual will both perform in-depth analyses and coordinate related efforts with members of a partner analytical team.
 
Job responsibilities include:

  • Execute Search Business Team strategy.

  • Structure analyses that will simplify complex issues and drive to actionable results.

  • Perform detailed analytics on large quantities of data required to conduct regular and ad-hoc analysis to drive critical business decisions.  This requires identifying and understanding key business issues, strong analytical thinking, the ability to conduct quantitative analysis on large data sets and develop conclusions based on analysis/research.

  • Strong SQL skills requested to query eBay data warehouse.

  • Coordinate efforts of partner analytics team members, effectively creating a larger and fully-aligned working team

  • Help in rigorous opportunity prioritization

  • Contribute to a culture of moving quickly, driving for results

  • Communicating learnings effectively to other stakeholders


Requirements

The ideal candidate should be highly motivated with demonstrated strong academic and professional performance. The position requires someone who is highly analytical, organized and detail-oriented with ability to work in fast-paced environment. This person needs to be skilled in driving quickly not just for numbers but rather for actionable insights.
 
      - Technical experience with current web technologies a plus. Search experience strongly preferred.
      - Technical experience with databases, data warehousing and tracking concept/tools a plus.
      - Ability to work effectively and drive agenda across numerous business, marketing, advertising and technical teams.
      - Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment.
      - Intellectual curiosity required.
      - Strong prioritization skills required.
      - Highly effective communication skills to work with a variety internal eBay teams.
      - Self-starter approach to work, with an eagerness to consistently exceed objectives.
      - Fun, energetic and collaborative personality. Looking for someone who can push aggressively for learnings and results while helping create a great work environment.
