Senior Research Engineer (Santa Clara, CA)

A senior research engineer with a strong background in developing software and systems for solving revenue optimization problems. Knowledge and experience in Machine Learning, Data Mining, Operations Research and Applied Statistics is necessary. The successful candidate will have a MS/PhD, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or Electrical Engineering with several years of practical experience and excellent implementation skills. The candidate will work in close collaboration with other engineers, applied scientists, and research scientists in creating fast, scalable solutions to optimization problems related to online advertising. Good communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Minimum Job Qualifications

• Strong background in machine learning, data mining, and statistical algorithms.
• Sound knowledge of standard computer science data structures and algorithms.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in formulating and solving large scale mathematical optimization problem.
• Previous participation in the full life cycle of a large project: design, implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance.
• Fluency in Java, C or C++.
• Fluency in Perl, Python or another scripting language.
• Proficient in UNIX/Linux tools and utilities.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Good communication skills.

• MS/Ph.D. in Operations Research, Applied Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of software development experience.
• Knowledge of software design patterns.
• Good understanding of online advertising technology.
• Data warehousing or high performance computing experience.
