BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Translational Technologies Statistics group provides support to a wide variety of clinical non-clinical activities in the development, validation and use of imaging and molecular medicine biomarkers.

Key roles:

• Provide statistical support, including design and analysis, to Pharmaceutical statisticians and imaging technology experts in the development of medical imaging biomarkers.
• Provide statistical support to Pharmaceutical statisticians in the development of statistical methods for analysis of molecular medicine studies.
• Work with programmers to create tools that facilitate the development and use of advanced statistical methodology by Pharmaceutical scientists.

• Design small pilot studies to estimate statistical parameters for future studies.
• Conduct exploratory analysis of novel medical imaging biomarkers from Ultrasound, MRI, PET and CT/X-Ray images.
• Determine bias and variance components from small to large studies that involve endpoints from medical images..

MINIMUM: M.S. Statistics or Biostatistics
DESIRABLE: Ph.D. Statistics or Biostatistics

WORK EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

Requirements:

A minimum of an M.S. in Statistics is required; a Ph.D. in Statistics is desired. One year statistical consulting experience preferable with a background in the data derived from medical images. A working knowledge of imaging principles is preferred. Good applied mathematics skills and experience in SAS, R, S-Plus, or Matlab.
