Sr Engineer - Westinghouse (Madison, PA)

Nearly 50 percent of the nuclear power plants in operation worldwide, and nearly 60 percent in the United States, are based on Westinghouse technology. - Perform complex radiation transport analysis using both deterministic and Monte Carlo radiation analysis tools to determine the radiation environment in existing and new nuclear power plants. The successful candidate will use state-of-the-art radiation transport tools to develop models and perform analysis and will develop innovative methods for improving existing radiation transport tools and/or creating new radiation transport tools.
- Perform radiation transport analysis to determine radiation environments in new and existing nuclear power plants
- Expertise in the areas of deterrministic and Monte Carlo radiation transport methods
- Develop innovative methods for performing radiation transport analysis
- Abillity to plan and schedule work to meet assigned schedule and budget requirements
- Identify and assist in developing new business oppoortunities
Specific Desired Skills:- Experiennce with using DOORS package (DORT/TORT radiation transport codes)
- Familiarity with Monte Carlo simulations using the MCNP code, including variance reduction techniques
- Knowledge of nationally and interrnationally developed advanced computational methods, including iterative techniques, acceleration techniques, and parallel processing schemes, for radiation transport algorithms
- Ability to develop advanceed computational methods for radiation transport methods and applications
- Familiarity with UNIX/LINUX operating environment
Education Requirements- Advanced degree in Nuclear Engineering
- PhD in Nuclear Engineering or Masters in Nuclear Engineering with experience preferred.
