Principal Financial Analyst - TimeWarner Division AOL (Dulles, VA)

AOL is recruiting a Principal Financial Analyst for the Corporate Finance group. The position includes broad exposure to the key financial and operating issues facing each of AOL's business units, as well as the overall company, and includes interaction with a broad group of individuals across AOL and Time Warner. This position will identify key business trends and highlight problems or opportunities as they arise, and work closely with the rest of the Planning team as well as other finance professionals around the company to analyze large amounts of financial data and distill the key issues into clear, concise presentations for AOL's top management.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Working with the Director of Corporate Planning to ensure that the monthly outlook accurately summarizes the state of the business and material risks & opportunities
  • Preparing financial analysis to monitor and facilitate understanding and articulation of key operating and financial trends in the consolidated business in order to facilitate corporate decision making
  • Contributing to the development of annual operating budgets and long-term plans, including key assumptions, in conjunction with finance teams across AOL
  • Assisting with identifying efficiencies that could be leveraged to improve the planning process
  • Developing ad hoc financial reports and models for senior management to aid in effective planning/forecasting and performance evaluation for various key metrics
  • Assisting with special projects for the CFO

Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to thrive and multi-task in a fast-paced and engaging environment, managing both short and long-term deliverables
  • Outstanding communication and coordination skills - with the ability to master coordination and communication with multiple reporting lines, and the confidence to interact with senior management
  • Industry knowledge of the Internet, telecommunications and / or media is preferable (not required)
  • Continuous process improvement mindset critical
  • Extensive experience with financial modeling, particularly with consumer subscription products and/or the online advertising business
  • Knowledge of Hyperion Planning, HFM, and/or SAP a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance required; 7+ years of related experience
