A Senior Strategist is responsible for leading strategy engagements with frog clients, covering areas of product, UI and brand. The strategy group works most heavily at the early stage of engagements with our clients, helping them identify new opportunities for growth. Often the problems they come to us with are only vaguely defined, it is the Senior Strategist’s role to bring shape to that problem by triangulating on it from a number of different angles.
Digital strategy: For this particular role we are looking for a candidate with a strong background in digital strategy, meaning experience and familiarity with: - online and e-commerce business models
- the process of creating web, application and/or embedded UI applications
- how brand is communicated through digital interactions
- how digital interactions fit into broader user experiences
The digital strategist will work closely with our large digital analyst group, which is responsible for information architecture, understanding user needs, doing wireframes, and working with the digital designers. The digital strategist will complement these efforts with a more business and strategic perspective to help our clients think about technology and business roadmaps relating to development of digital experiences.
Experience in the areas of wireless communications, portable media, digital entertainment, and consumer electronics user experiences is highly desirable.
Daily Activities - The Senior Strategist guides a multi-disciplinary team of strategists, industrial designers, engineers, digital designers and information architects through the “fuzzy front end” of the project, keeping the team on track and establishing the thought leadership that will guide the outcome. Must be adaptable to fast-changing situations, and quick-on-feet to answer tough questions from clients, responding with confidence and diplomacy to provide guidance, recommendations, and challenging clients’ assumptions. As the point-person on providing the early project vision, it is critical to project success that the Senior Strategist make clients feel comfortable, trusting and engaged in the process.
- The Senior Strategist also takes a lead role on writing proposals (collaborating with the sales team and other discipline leads), and in the pre-sales process making presentations to prospective clients.
- The Senior Strategist must be comfortable working in a collaborative environment, but be pro-active and independent in running their aspect of projects, and in making critical decisions when information may be partial or conflicting.
Skills
Outstanding verbal, writing and presentation skills. Must be comfortable standing in front of C- and VP-level executives in both pitching new projects and deliverable presentation capacities. Must be skilled at Powerpoint, experience with illustration tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Visio/OmniGraffle, a plus.

The goal of frog strategy is to provide integrated insight into new opportunities. To that end, a Senior Strategist must be comfortable in all of the following realms: - Understanding People - uncovering user needs, perceiving and responding to the dynamics of the client’s team, etc.
- Understanding Business – facility with the language of business, markets, and business, helping our clients find new opportunities for market growth
- Understanding Technology – knowledgeable and curious about new technologies, and being able to see them from fresh and user-oriented perspectives
Past experience and education should include:- 6-10 years of experience in business strategy, marketing or design, or a combination of these. Proven track record of helping clients identify and deliver on growth opportunities and bringing products or services to market
- MA or MBA preferred, Bachelors related to any of the above three areas satisfactory
- Experience participating (if not running) ethnographic and other qualitative research methods preferred. Experience with quantitative methods (surveys, focus groups, quant analysis) also favored.
