Business Analyst (San Mateo, CA)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Business Analyst is responsible for documenting requirements for use by developers in designing application modules. Requirements are written in a Business Requirement Document as well as in use case scenarios. The Business Analyst is also required to write functional design documents based on the requirements documents and facilitate internal and external design reviews. The Business Analyst communicates with various personnel within the company, customers and 3rd party vendors to gather requirements. The Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing business requirements and formulating solutions to meet those requirements for the Expense Management system. The Business Analyst will need to interact with other product teams within the company to come up with integration requirements. The Business Analyst will need to interact with Credit Card Processors, Travel Booking Agencies, Reporting Solution Providers, back-end Enterprise Application Vendors to gather integration requirements and track changes to existing integrations. The Business Analyst also participates in design reviews.

Other responsibilities include:

• Provide the documentation team with input on features and solutions.
• Provide guidance and help to QA team on testing features and solutions.
• Provide guidance and help to support team regarding client escalations.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• 5 years of minimum experience in the Financial Applications industry as a Business Analyst
• Experience in several of the following: Expense Reporting, Travel Booking Systems, Payment Request applications, Accounts Payable systems and processes.
• Works well independently
• Initiative and self-directed in seeking answers and issue resolution

DESIRED Skills:

• Exposure to Expense Management application requirements
• Experience with SOA integrations
• Exposure to XML and Relational Databases
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
