Decision Science Director (Wilmington, DE)

Job Description

This position will work closely with Customer Marketing, Marketing Operation, Strategic Alliances and Partner Management and other departments to manage pricing terms. The person will evaluate the performance by program actions and deliver offer recommendation to senior management. The person will conduct analysis to identify opportunities to improve the programs and develop new strategy/product to enhance the program profitability. As the business owner, the person will also lead a team to execute the proposed strategy/product and conduct time series performance analysis. The person will be responsible for keeping the pricing terms in line with the market while using resources both efficiently and effectively.

Essential Functions:

• Analyze the actual vs. forecast performance by offer matrix to ensure that strategies are working properly.
• Accumulate and analyze data to develop customer programs to increase the profitability of the portfolio.
• Create and maintain a quarterly reporting package, communicating key trends to senior management.
• Perform ad-hoc analytics to define underlying drivers of trends observed in MIS.
• Develop and maintain P&Ls for offers and forecast business impacts.
• Develop test design and exam past tests to update and enhance existing strategies.
• Work with Custom Marketing to design, develop, and test new offers to keep the program competitive on the market while achieving the optimal profit goal.
• Identify potential process issues and propose solution.
• Provide pricing related ad-hoc analytical support to our nearly 60 unique partnership portfolio.

Education, Experience, And Skills Required:

• MBA or quantitative Masters degree and at least 6 years of analytic experience in Bank Cards or related financial services industry or 9 or greater years of experience with analytics in Bank Cards or related financial service industry
• Strong SAS skills
• Proficient in SQL and Excl; Experience in Access, VB and OLAP a plus
• Strong understanding of credit card P&L
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid understanding of marketing concepts and the ability to apply them to the complex factors which shape the industry
• Project management experience and customer marketing experience a plus
• A results-oriented person who concentrates on bringing closure to issues through assertiveness and persistence.
