Position Description - Machine Translation - imagine experiencing the World Wide Web without language barriers - enabling everyone across the globe to understand content regardless of the original language! If you share this vision and are passionate about joining a team of developers engaged in innovative web applications, then the Machine Translation team has the right position for you. We have just shipped the very first version of our translation system and we are tightly integrated into the Live Search experience. The reviews we?ve received from the community have been incredibly positive, in particular about our innovative, side-by-side viewing experience. But this is just the beginning ? although we now translate huge numbers of web pages per day, we are far from done. We are looking for a Builder with CoReXt and/or BuildTracker experience - someone who can help maintain and expand our growing set of components in a heterogeneous and distributed build environment. Knowledge of Microsoft development tools, source control environments, and the ability to read & comprehend fairly complex Perl and C# build scripts are necessary prerequisites. -
Qualifications - 2 plus years work related experience required. Knowledge of applicable build processes and of Microsoft development tools required. Knowledge of Windows is required; knowledge of Windows NT may be required. Knowledge of Perl preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently, and as part of a team required. Knowledge of source code control systems required; SourceSafe, Raid, and or Source Depot preferred. Familiarity with product development cycle and with international issues may be required. Previous experience with SQL Server and ODBC preferred. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
