Senior Risk Analyst (Surrey, UK)
An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a three-year Fixed Term Appointment (with the possibility of extension or permanency) within the Centre for Epidemiology and Risk Analysis (CERA) at the Veterinary Laboratories Agency. Working within the internationally recognised Risk Analysis workgroup, you will:-- Lead a small team of risk analysts; - managing and developing risk assessment projects in the fields of national and international veterinary and public health (including food safety);
- Initiate new funding contracts from Defra, FSA (Food Standards Agency) and commercial customers,
- Advise policy-makers on the results of projects and offer consultancy on risk analysis (including risk assessment) issues both within and out with the VLA,
- Promote CERA science at national and international meetings and conferences by presenting and publishing in reports and peer-reviewed journals.
For this position, you must have a degree in a quantitative subject or which includes a substantial quantitative element. Experience in risk assessment/mathematical modelling is essential, with a PhD in this area desirable.
The post is a 3-year Fixed Term Appointment (with the possibility of extension or permanency) in Pay Band C £32,850 - £48,075 per annum.
