Lean six sigma - Campbell (Paris, TX)
General Summary
The Black Belt will be responsible for using the Lean Six Sigma methodology to drive operational process improvements that support increased OEE and Flat TDC among other key strategic initiatives. This position will identify, develop, and execute Lean Six Sigma Kaizen events at the plant.The Black Belt will provide mentoring, coaching and training as needed at the plant to support the use of the Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools. The Black Belt will also be the process owner of Loss Analysis activities at the plant: understanding losses in the facility, leading zero loss analysis initiatives, and managing the overall plant project hopper.
Principal Accountabilities
- 20% - Coach and Support Green Belts to successfully complete Kaizen Events
- 20% - Lead complex, high return Kaizen Events/projects
- 20% - Partner with the plant in identifying and selecting Lean Six Sigma Projects/Kaizen Events that are aligned to key business priorities (including management of Loss Analysis opportunities and other similar activities)
- 15% - Act as a change agent, systematically driving use of Lean Six Sigma for continuous improvement and change throughout the plant.
- 10% - Monitor and report on the Lean Six Sigma program and Kaizen event progress of the plant
- 10% Identify and deploy Lean Six Sigma best practices within the plant and across specified plants and facilities
- 5% - Performs other responsibilities and tasks as assigned.
Job Complexity:
Must continuously challenge the status quo to drive culture change at the plant towards a methodical, data driven approach to problem solving with an emphasis on root cause problem solving and sustaining improvements
- Working with people at all levels within the plant with varying levels of Lean Six Sigma experience.
- Involved across all phases of Lean Six Sigma projects including identification, selection, execution and sustainment.
- Working closely with corporate to monitor the Lean Six Sigma program and improve overall program effectiveness
Education & Experience
Education Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of operations experience
- Cross functional operations experience with a strong understanding of various plant functions
- Experience and passion for introducing new techniques (i.e. change agent)
- Strong leadership, communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem solving mindset
- Analytical aptitude - ability to collect and analyze data and think analytically
- Ability to influence and drive change
- Respected leader and peer
- Results oriented with excellent project and time management skills
- Business sense - ability to understand how changes will drive the right business results
- Demonstrated competency of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology
